Born from a wildflower.
Built from a dream.
Some things aren't invented — they're remembered.
The wildflower
As a little girl, I walked through the fields with my father and would stop to admire a flower most people overlooked: the wild thistle — cardus in Latin. Resilient, free, and beautiful precisely because no one had planted it there.
Long before Kardu's Bag had a name, it had hands. Hands that cut scraps of fabric to stitch tiny dresses for my Barbies. Hands that twisted wire, wood, and colorful pieces of cloth to create bags that didn't exist in any store.
"Where did you get that?" "I made it — because I couldn't find anything I liked."
The turning point
Life brought me design school, a son, and then — a storm. A painful separation that shook everything. Three years of depression and anxiety that made the world impossibly heavy.
But in the middle of that darkness, my therapist asked me a simple question:
"Think of something you love so much, you'd do it even if no one paid you."
I didn't hesitate. I thought of my bags. That moment became the seed of a new beginning.
Building the dream
I rebuilt myself stitch by stitch, color by color — and when my family and I took the leap to the United States, I brought my dream with me. This time, with a name: Kardu's.
Spelled with a K — because I looked at Cardus and saw something more my own. Something that had never existed before, just like every bag I create.
Today, Kardu's Bag is built on one conviction: true luxury should last, and beauty should never cost the planet.
Made for her
Kardu's was never made for everyone. It was made for the woman who notices the wildflower everyone else walks past. The woman who wears what she feels, not what she's told.
The woman who knows that a bag isn't just an accessory — it's an extension of who she is.
Like a thistle growing free in the field — one of a kind, resilient, and impossible to ignore.
